Fé e narrativa: o entendimento da dor desprovido de suas dimensões culturais é lamentavelmente incompleto
David Morris discute a importância da inclusão de aspectos culturais para o completo entendimento da dor. De acordo com o texto, apenas o conhecimento sobre os mecanismos celulares e moleculares da dor é insuficiente para explicar todos os variados estados dolorosos. Desta forma, entender as características culturais, tais como a fé, os valores sociais e as formas de narrativas da dor, pode ser tão importante quanto entender a ciência dos neurônios e da genética da dor.
